Mallorie B. Ortega is a director, writer, and food lover. In May of 2016, she graduated from USC School of Cinematic Arts, earning her MFA in Film and Television Production. After graduation, she awarded the Television Academy Foundation Directing Internship, shadowing directors from Jimmy Kimmel Live, NCIS, Grey's Anatomy, and Hairspray Live. She recently finished production on an ABC Pilot for Kapital Entertainment as the Assistant to Line Producer.
Mallorie was selected to direct the prestigious school funded Advanced Production Project in the Fall of 2015 - a rom com musical called Mango Sticky Rice featuring original music and an all Asian-American cast. Mango Sticky Rice won awards from the Asians on Film Festival 2016 including Best Ensemble, Best Comedy, and Best Director. The film was also nominated for Best Comedy, Best Production Design, and was the only female to be nominated as Best Director at the First Look Film Festival 2016.
